Police seek 2 in fatal hit-and-run
Daly City police were looking Wednesday for two people of interest in connection with a hit-and-run incident that took the life of a Daly City man Tuesday night.Police received reports of a vehicle collision at 9:34 p.m. from a witness, Capt. Michael Edwards said. When officers arrived to the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Oliver Street they found James Allen Martin, 57, inside his small silver Dodge pickup.
Martin was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, San Mateo County coroner Robert Foucrault said.
The driver of the second vehicle, a white older model Chevrolet Bronco, fled the scene of the crash, Edwards said. The car was found 20 minutes later at a residence a few blocks from the crash.
Three people in the residence were questioned and released, and police are searching for two others who are considered to be of interest, Edwards said. Police are not releasing any suspect information.
Preliminary investigations show that the suspect's vehicle was traveling fast and did not stop at the four-way intersection, Edwards said. The larger car blew through the intersection and crushed Martin's pickup truck, causing fatal injuries.
